Breakfast with St. NICUlas Raises More Than $44,000 for Texas Health Fort Worth NICU|
FORT WORTH, Texas — More than 500 guests attended the 2013 Breakfast with St. NICUlas at The Fort Worth Club on December 14. Through table sponsorships and ticket sales, guests showed their holiday spirit by raising more than $44,000 net to support the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.
Proceeds from this year’s event will provide education and professional development for the NICU nurses and create a more comfortable environment in the NICU for families and staff. Fifteen nurses will be offered membership in the National Association of Neonatal Nurses and four nurses will attend educational conferences to network with colleagues and share best practices. In addition, funds raised will benefit nursing department priorities, such as new furniture for NICU mothers and breastfeeding supplies.
“Breakfast with St. NICUlas was a great success this year, with more families than ever in attendance,” said 2013 chair Caroline Bailey. “It was such an honor to serve as chair this year and to see our community rally together in support of Texas Health Fort Worth’s NICU.”
Families enjoyed an entire floor of holiday fun at The Fort Worth Club, including photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a live reindeer, cookie decorating, a buffet breakfast and live Christmas music.
